Trace (L)
Trace (L) is a vertical structure of domestic light bulbs, speakers and proximity sensors. These elements are attached to the central structure in order to create an impression of unity and symmetry that recalls that of columns, obelisks and other ancient monuments. The passage of visitors through time is computed and crystallizes in the light emitted by the structure. The work thus acts as a pivot. A mystical, tribal element, whose hypnotic presence attracts anonymous individuals, dissolving them in a pure statistic of the past. An intimate link nonetheless appears between the work and the viewer: immersed in the sensory and interactive space, he is put face-to-face with his own presence, his own sensibility.
